Serve Credit Union Expands Membership to Include

Healthcare Workers in Central Iowa

DES MOINES - Serve Credit Union has expanded their organization’s field of membership to include employees, volunteers, and retired personnel of health and medical care facilities who live, work, or worship within Polk County or the contiguous counties of Dallas, Boone, Story, Jasper, Marion, Warren, and Madison. This expansion builds upon the credit union’s mission to serve those who serve our community.

“From our proud beginnings in 1931 serving police officers and their families, we are honored to expand our membership opportunities to even more Iowans on the frontlines—now including those in the healthcare industry throughout Polk County and its contiguous counties,” shared Jami Weems, Chief Executive Officer of Serve Credit Union. “Healthcare professionals embody the same compassion, dedication, and service that have shaped our credit union from the beginning. We look forward to supporting them with the financial tools they need and the personalized care they deserve.”

By welcoming healthcare workers, Serve Credit Union is now able to offer its full range of financial products and services to those who work within the industry and their families. Members can benefit from competitive loan rates, savings and checking accounts, digital banking tools, and personalized financial assistance from staff.

Through their 95 years, the credit union has strengthened its role in the community and now supports a broader membership while maintaining a strong focus on service, trust, and local support. Additional membership groups include public safety professionals, government employees, educators, and others whose work strengthens Iowa communities.

“Serve Credit Union remains unique in the market with a closed field of membership,” said Weems. “This enables us to focus closely on the needs of these frontline workers in our community, while also diversifying our base with the expansion into mission-aligned industries.”
