About Us

iJAG is an independent, statewide 501(c)(3) private nonprofit corporation established in 1999 and has become a leader within the national JAG network.

Two Decades of Student Success
iJAG envisions a future without dropouts – a time when even those students most challenged by poverty, family circumstance, mental health issues, and poor academic performance can acquire the skills necessary to earn a diploma, find fufilling careers, and become contributing members of their local community. We are one of 37 state affiliates of the national Jobs for America’s Graduates program.

Since 1999, we have created a bridge between public education and the world of work. We support student academic success and workforce skillbuilding while helping employers develop the work-based learning experiences that propel students toward living-wage jobs. During that time the program has grown from six sites that served ~150 annually to nearly 80 sites that impact more than 3500 students each year.

iJAG is the only statewide organization recognized by the Iowa Department of Labor as a Quality Preapprenticeship Program.

Jobs for America’s Graduates is recognized by the National Dropout Prevention Center as a model program.

iJAG representatives serve on boards including Future Ready Iowa, the Governor’s STEM Council Advisory and the National Governor’s Association Work-Based Learning Core.
