A native of western New York\, she holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from the University of Phoenix and worked 10 years as a correctional officer for the Iowa Department of Corrections.\n\n She ran for council to give residents a stronger voice and to improve transparency and communication. Her priorities are lasting repairs to the city's worst streets\, fiscal responsibility\, attracting new businesses\, and growing community events while keeping Windsor Heights a friendly small town.\n\n Susan chairs the Special Events Committee and serves on the Metro Waste Authority Board\, One Million Trees Committee\, and Public Works Committee. She is also a Connector for the Urbandale Windsor Heights Chamber and was named Windsor Heights Citizen of the Year in 2023.
