DES MOINES, Iowa - Yesterday at the 2019 Women of Achievement Awards Ceremony, Women Lead Change announced a new grant initiative called the Girls with Goals Fund to be in conjunction with the existing Women of Achievement awards program. This grant will be open for nominations for qualifying non-profit organizations and initiatives across the state to apply to receive funds for programs that help to empower girls to grow into strong women leaders.
Qualifying non-profits would boast missions that ensure all girls (K-8) have an opportunity to gain critical skills that will support their growth as women leaders including:
  • Inspire girls to recognize their inner strength
  • Celebrate all the characteristics that make each girl one of a kind
  • Spark the interest and confidence in girls to pursue studies and careers in traditionally male-dominated fields
  • Empower girls of all ages through mentorship
Iowa organizations that are interested in applying for the Girls with Goals fund should email

The fund will be distributed through the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. Women Lead Change is proud to be the first donor. Tax deductible contributions can be sent to:
